Time to be Remembered

Ryan M Barnes

I’ve never met someone like you before
There are too many things I just cannot ignore
Those things that make you special those things that make you neat
From the top of your head down to your size seven feet
 with painted toenails

We’ve only known each other for a little while
But I can take that inch and make it into a mile
‘Cause I know the times that we’re together
I enjoy myself—it’s a time to be remembered

Like Zoro—a movie about a girl and here dad
A slice of Woodstock’s without pineapple—‘cause that would be bad
We’ll visit Jerry and his friend Ben
but I hope that’s not the end

Take my hand and we’ll dance into the hours of the night
You might be new but I can’t tell ‘cause you’re doin’ the steps just right
We could sit on a swing or walk in the park
the things we both like to do
And I’d like to do them with you
 maybe Sidewinder again someday

We’ve only known each other for a little while
But I can stretch that inch and make it into a mile
‘Cause I know the times that we’re together
I enjoy myself—it’s a time to be remembered
