Bio

Born in Fresno, California Ryan Matthew Barnes from an early age was drawn to music. Learning the words to every song on his Disney records and videos, he moved on to hammering out the melodies on an old Casio keyboard. Cursed with a crush on a young violinist in elementary school and strong allergy to rye grass, Ryan took to music instruments and began playing the violin in 5th grade. In middle school after seeing a stage production of 10 Little Indians, Ryan began improv and drama classes developing the dry humor which he is known for now. High school added tenor saxophone, percussion, chorale, ensemble, and piano as he took extra classes before school and during lunch to feed the musical addiction that had set its claws into his soul.
Graduating early after two years of high school, Ryan began college earning a degree in English Literature while working as a barista and lifeguard, getting married and moving to Southern California shortly afterwards. Learning to play guitar on the sand and falling in love with the sunsets of Huntington Beach was the imminent result, as well as a quasi-unhealthy obsession with being in the water.
Ryan’s work as a network admin moved him to Atlanta where his music took off and he transitioned from “The Computer Guy” to a full time musician – performing, teaching, and producing. Moving back home to Clovis a few years later, Ryan has started an entertainment company under the name Silvertooth Productions specializing in video, music, and mobile media, and is in the upcoming Roger Rockas show Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
